Drumming Workshops
The Caribbean coast of Colombia has a rich musical culture created from a mix of Indigenous Indian, African and European roots.
Colombian percussionist Anthar Kharana has been working with the ‘tambores’, or drums, and voice from this area for many years. He is also an accomplished musician who plays several instruments and has a wide experience of teaching and performance including voice work as well as drumming.
In his workshops, Anthar introduces the participants to the traditional drums and percussion from the Cariibean coast of Colombia. These sessions are for all ages and abilities – from beginners to advanced, from primary to secondary and adults. They can be one-off sessions or organized as a series of classes leading to performance.
